A man has twice boarded planes at Munich Airport without a valid ticket. After being stopped the first time, he managed to travel to Sweden the next day, police said. They are now investigating the 39-year-old Norwegian for trespassing and evading transportation, the newspaper “Bild” had previously reported.
Man’s first attempt to fly without a ticket fails
According to the investigation, the Norwegian successfully passed through security checks in early August without a valid airline ticket. The man then boarded the plane with other passengers. The man’s first attempt failed before the flight to Hamburg: On August 4, airline staff handed the 39-year-old over to the police.
The next day, the Norwegian managed to get to Sweden. The flight was not full, they said. The man’s actions were discovered and he was handed over to the Swedish police after a tip-off from airport staff. The details of this were initially unclear.
Police are also trying to find out how the 39-year-old was able to successfully pass through checkpoints twice without a ticket. According to current investigations, the man did not pose any danger.
