Suunto Ocean combines dive computers and GPS sports watches in one watch with OLED screen

This was announced by the Finnish brand Suunto the new Suunto Ocean GPS sports watch. The name recalls its main purpose, which is Wrist dive computer Up to 60 meters: Suunto Ocean supports different types of dives, with air, nitrox or multigas cylinders (up to 5 gas types), uses the Suunto B├╝hlmann 16 GF decompression algorithm and provides readings via the accessory probe Suunto Tank POD on the pulse of cylinder pressure. There is no shortage of special modes for freediving or the simplest snorkeling.

In terms of design, the Suunto Ocean is characterized by a 49.9 mm case with sapphire crystal glass and stainless steel bezel. The screen is made of a 1.43 inch OLED touch display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. The satellite reception module is dual-band and supports the constellations GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS and BEIDOU.

In addition to diving-specific functions (depth measurement, dive duration, ascent time, tank consumption, alarms for too fast ascent, deviation of the decompression curve and much more) Suunto Ocean supports tracking of 95 sports disciplines and is equipped with sensors such as an altimeter, barometer, compass and of course a wrist heart rate monitor with HRV measurement. There is no shortage of classic pedometer and sleep monitoring functions.

The autonomy is interesting: With one battery charge, Suunto Ocean offers up to 60 hours of diving, 50 hours of continuous GPS trackingwhile in daily use the autonomy reaches up to 26 days. Suunto Ocean is also manufactured in Finland with 100% energy from renewable sources. The product will be available in summer at a price of 799 euros.
