Samsung shows off new 2024 displays

Samsung Electronics has launched the current generation of Odyssey OLED, Smart and ViewFinity monitors globally. Both models even offer AI functions.

The Odyssey OLED G82 (model name: G80SD) is a slim 32-inch OLED gaming monitor from Samsung with 4K UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The display has a refresh rate of 240 Hz (max.) and a response time of 0.03 ms (G/G) – for smooth and responsive gameplay.

The Odyssey OLED G6 (model name: G60SD) offers a WQHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) at 27 inches and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The refresh rate is 360 Hz (max.) and the response time is 0.03 ms (G/G) – so it’s suitable for gamers.

Both models feature FreeSyncTM Premium Pro and Samsung OLED Safeguard+. The technology is intended to prevent burn-in through pulsating heat conduction. The monitor can also detect static images such as logos and taskbars and automatically reduce their brightness, which can further combat burn-in effects.

The Odyssey OLED G8 and the OLED G6 illuminate with 250 cd/m2 (typ.). OLED Glare Free technology ensures minimal reflection on the display, while maintaining image sharpness and color accuracy – even in daylight. The basis for this is an OLED-adapted, low-reflection coating.

Both monitors feature a thin metal design. When playing, Core Lighting+ also enhances the mood: Content-adapted ambient lighting supports the gaming feeling. The display can be adjusted in height, tilt, swivel and swivel with the stand.
