Lower Austrian Theatre Festival (04.06 – 01.09)
The success story of the Lower Austrian Theatre Festival began 30 years ago. At that time, Lower Austrian directors came together to promote summer theatre in Lower Austria. Today, the theatre festival comprises 20 venues that present the audience with a first-class and top-class programme. The late summer programme includes highlights such as the operetta “Wiener Blut” by Johann Strauss Sohn, the musical “We will Rock You” by Queen and Ben Elton, the comedy “The Servant of Two Masters” by Carlo Goldoni and numerous offers for children.
La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival (13.06 – 13.10)
The seventh year of the festival presents the work of the world’s best environmental photographers. Over seven kilometers, surrounded by the art of Baden’s gardens, visitors can immerse themselves in fascinating worlds of images. 30 exhibitions combine art and nature in a unique way and invite guests to see the world from new perspectives.
Tangent St. Pölten (30 April – 6 October)
With a focus on ecology, memory and democracy, this offers Tangente Festival for contemporary culture in St. Pölten a diverse programme of visual arts, theatre, music, literature and discourse formats. Grafenegg Festival (16.08. – 08.09.)
This year, too, major international orchestras and outstanding soloists from all over the world will meet to offer guests an unparalleled program. The central venues are the Wolkenturm open-air stage in the middle of the 32-hectare castle park and the Auditorium concert hall, which is used for Martineen and as an alternative venue. The highlight of the season is the program from mid-August to early September with guest orchestras such as the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Filarmonica della Scala in Milan, the Orchestre National de France and the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra.
