Here’s how Emirates flies from Zurich

Emirates will launch its new cabin product on Zurich flights on 1 October 2024. Following the market launch of the first Boeing 777 on one of the two daily flights to GenevaEmirates now also flies from Zurich with four classes: with flight numbers EK 85 and EK 86. From 22 September, two daily flights will also be operated between Geneva and Dubai with the latest Boeing 777s (flight numbers EK 89 and EK 90).

Mohammad Lootah, Emirates Country Manager for Switzerland, said: “Just one week after the successful launch of our modernised cabin product in Geneva, we are already feeling the enthusiasm from passengers. The fact that our twice-daily flights from Geneva are now being operated with the modernised Boeing 777 shows how well our improved offering is being accepted. Demand is equally strong in Zurich, so it is only logical to offer flights here with a four-class Boeing 777 in the coming weeks.”

“Switzerland is a strategic market for Emirates’ network in Europe and demand for premium cabins is strong in both Zurich and Geneva. We are delighted to be able to offer our guests the latest cabin products and thus further enhance our in-flight experience. We look forward to a successful start to October in Zurich,” added Mohammad Lootah.

New cabin coming to 28 destinations

With an expanded list of cities served by both the upgraded Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft, Emirates offers customers more choice and an even better flying experience across all cabin classes. The airline plans to serve 28 cities with premium economy class by the end of this year. So far, 25 aircraft have been converted and a further 17 will be upgraded by December 2024.

The four-class Boeing 777 is available with six or eight first class suites, 38 business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, 24 premium economy class seats in a 2-4-2 layout and 260 economy class seats.

With a 1-2-1 configuration, where four seats are arranged next to each other, every passenger has direct access to the aisle. Each seat features a personal minibar, a table for dining or working, multiple power outlets for charging electronic devices and more. The touchscreen controller for the entertainment system and seat controls, as well as a 23-inch personal HD screen, one of the largest in the world, ensure that every guest can fully enjoy Emirates’ award-winning ice entertainment system.

The wide 19.5-inch cream leather seats in the premium economy cabin, complete with a six-way adjustable headrest, offer enhanced comfort and can be easily reclined to a relaxed reclining position. A calf and foot support provide additional comfort. There are also accessible charging stations at the seats and a wooden dining and cocktail table. The Premium Economy Class experience is rounded out with an exclusive in-flight dining experience featuring Business Class-inspired elements, such as a welcome drink, premium beverages and a selection of gourmet dishes served on fine tableware.
