Many companies are faced with the decision to replace their PCs and notebooks with Windows 11-capable devices – preferably ones with AI functionality. It also wants to help its partners speed up the refresh through a program for replacing old IT hardware and take-back bonuses.

Microsoft’s support for Windows 10 will end next year. From October 2025, there will be no free security updates for devices still running the operating system.

Only a few of these PCs and notebooks are equipped with the hardware required by Windows 11. Many devices were also purchased at the beginning of the Corona years and are now 4 years old.

Many corporate customers are now faced with the decision to modernize their IT workstations and purchase new Windows 11-capable PCs and devices optimized for AI. The Distributor also estimates that approximately 11 million devices with Windows 10 are still in circulation in the DACH region alone, and approximately 60 percent of these are among SMB customers. Now is a particularly good time to encourage your customers for a hardware refresh. With a new program, DIN wants to provide additional support to its partners in boosting hardware refreshes for their customers.

“Hardware Refresh” offers partners individual offers for replacing old IT hardware, buying back and reselling existing systems as well as project offers for new products, with flexible rental models if desired. The distributor promises that the trade-in of old devices enables attractive buyback bonuses, which partners can also pass on to their customers. With a small investment, they can equip their digital workplaces to be innovative and future-proof. Partners can increase their revenue by selling new devices. And returning and processing old devices supports the circular economy.

As a specific example of a buyback bonus, So mentions a 4-year-old business notebook in good condition, which, together with the new purchase, can achieve a buyback value of around 250 to 290 euros .

This is a profitable commercial offer and a win-win constellation, CCO Mike Rakowski also emphasizes. “Our partners can offer their customers the highest project prices and at the same time achieve attractive margins.”
