A second chance for Primrose, a three-legged dog with a broken spirit

The beginning of this story with Primrose is terrible: Paws New England, an animal-based shelter, receives an anonymous call in which an individual threatens to shoot the dog, a mixed-breed fence: “The man claimed that someone abandoned her on their property and they wanted her to leave, or someone will come and shoot her,” a spokesman for the Newsweek organization said.

Volunteers set out to contact the person closest to the scene: Misty Goodson, who lives in Mississippi, immediately goes to get the dog, realizing from the start that the poor animal must have suffered at the hands of its previous owner.

“Primrose had a broken elbow, she was starving and her spirit was totally destroyed – said a spokesman for Paws New England -. We don’t know how she was initially injured, but there was definitely no one to help her.”

The transformation of the three-legged dog: from a weakened spirit to a force of nature

There was no other solution for the dog than surgery to amputate the front leg up to the shoulder, as it could not be restored. Despite everything, Primrose proved to be very reactive and immediately learned to walk on three legs.

Through it all, Goodson’s care was essential as he saw countless dogs transformed under his watch and immediately understood his new tenant’s personality: “She loves to go outside, walk on a leash, run, give out treats and lie in her giant cage with a big soft bed, alone with her plush Kong Fox She also likes to cuddle and play with other big dogs!”.

No one knows what the future holds for Primrose, but her prospects are significantly better, because adoption has already arrived for her: an eternal family with whom she can grow and share pleasant moments that will make her understand that a world different from her past is definitely possible.
